Half sand morocco, spine decorated with a precious radiating mosaic stone, title and author lettered in gilt, head in gilt and covers preserved. Binding signed by Rene Kiefer. Limited edition; number 468 of 500. Marbled boards and endpapers, top edge gilt, ownership bookplate inside front cover. With 69 watercolored stencilled plates by Brunelleschi, of which 14 without text. 225p, 21 unnumbered. One of the most highly regarded books illustrated by Brunelleschi. A beautiful, fine copy. Miomandre was a French novelist and a famous translator of works of Spanish to French.
