FIRST EDITION. 8vo. vii 348pp. EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with around 100 engraved portraits views etc. of which 42 are hand-coloured. Nicely bound by Root in full brown morocco gilt covers with triple gilt fillets and corner-pieces, spine in six gilt panelled compartments, gilt lettered direct in second and third compartments, gilt inner dentelles, top edge, coloured cloth endpapers, a small chip to head of spine, but really a very good copy.
