SHOBERL, Frederic. (Ed)
World in Miniature - Austria, containing a brief description of the manners and customs, characters, and costumes of the people of that empire.

Frederick Shoberl (1775-1853) was an English journalist, editor, and illustrator. He created his hand-coloured engravings for The World in Miniature, a series published during the 1820s by R. Akermann in London. The series covered different parts of the world, including Persia. It describes the country, characters, manners, customs, dress, religion, women, and other particularities of different nations. According to Abbey, "This interesting series aimed to increase the store of knowledge concerning the various branches of the great family of man."
